How To Have A Successful Monday...

Monday mornings are the most critical part of the working week. They set your mindset for the week ahead, and by kicking off the week positively - you are more likely to feel positive about the rest of the week. There are many things you can do to ensure you go into work feeling refreshed and prepared mentally and physically on a Monday...

Wake up early and exercise
There is nothing worse than not being able to get up on a Monday, as it sets you up for a week of feeling unprepared and lazy. A great way to ensure you go into work prepared is to get up early and exercise. It will get your circulation going and make you more alert, and you will also get an endorphin rush which will help put you in a good mood.

Eat a healthy breakfast
How are you going to be at your best if you have no energy to work from? Treat yourself to a nice big healthy breakfast on a Monday. Your stomach will be thanking you when you are stuck in a meeting at 1pm.

Don't be late
Traffic is traditionally bad on a Monday, which gives even more of a reason to get up and leave earlier. Being early will give you time to organise yourself, and give you a bit of extra time to deal with any emails or phone calls that have built up over the weekend.

Catch up with your team and boss
This helps to keep the team morale high, and you will be surprised at the positive effect that making an effort with others will have on your mood.

Update your to-do list and goals
Start the week with a view of what you need to achieve that week and by when. By setting your goals and objectives clearly in your head, you will feel motivated to achieve them.

Tackle the tough challenges first
The toughest challenges are easy to put off, but your energy levels are highest in the morning. Complete these tasks first thing  and you eliminate the dreading feeling of still having them on your to-do list.

Smile
Don't let the negativity surrounding Monday bring you down. You have the power to decide on your mood, and if you decide to be positive and successful, you will. Your good mood may even become infectious and motivate your colleagues also.

Say No
On Monday mornings there will always be distractions - from people, to emails, meetings and calls. If you need to, politely suggest to engage at a later time. It is better this way, as you cannot do your best work when you are dealing with conflicting priorities.

Stay Focused
Try not to dwell on the weekend, or any other thoughts. Put your thoughts aside for the day and focus on work.

Monday's can be challenging for even the most successful business leaders. Follow these tips, and you are due a positive and successful business week.
